Swarovski wanted a new approach to their 2022 Sustainability Report. The report looks at all aspects of Swarovski’s business and crystal supply chain, from a social and environmental point of view.
I was responsible for designing and mapping out the structure and pagination, the visual concept as well as design development, infographics and taking the report through to art-working. Navigating a range of stakeholders and ensuring the complex information presented stayed true to the Swarovski brand. A personal highlight from this project was learning how to spell Swarovski without having to google it.
The Story of Our Crystals
The report design follows a Swarovski crystal through the design & development, materials & suppliers, manufacturing & distribution, through to the customer and end of life. This journey is represented visually through a connecting line that crosses over through pages & highlights key moments throughout the journey.
Once we arrived at the selected design concept I worked on building out a rigorous grid and typographic system to ensure the report was coherent and consistent. It had to be flexible to work for content ranging from simple editorial layouts through to complex infographics & data visualisation. A simple navigation helps signpost key sections and lets users find their way around.
